hi..,my name is Yosie Nadeak, coming from Indonesia.
glad to write on your message board :>
To be honest, i first acknowledge you as a korean actor from the drama of "Gourmet", but when i first time see you and watched your act, i already fall in love with you, in love with your simple style, your character of a stupid boy with a generous heart, a picture of a man that's rare to find in the present time.
you know what?, these few days, i've been thingking about you.. :p, and imagine if i could have a boy friend like you, with a lucky love story as described on that drama, that lies between you and nam sang-mi :> (ups!, are you both really be a couple on a real life?)
i'm just an ordinary girl, i'm not an actress and i'm not a star, but..if someday, i am having the fortune to meet with you, it's a great honor for me.
may God bless you always ..

Singer and actress Uhm Jung-hwa takes on the role of the antagonist in director Park Hee-gon's new movie with the working title "Insa-dong Scandal." According to the Ssamzie I-Vision production company, Uhm will play "Bae Tae-jin," a cold-hearted mogul of the fine arts industry who stops at nothing to accumulate wealth. Filming for "Insa-dong Scandal" is set to begin next month. The story is about the restoration of a Joseon dynasty masterpiece and its secrets. Conflicts arise between "Bae Tae-jin" and the art restoration expert she hires, "Lee Kang-jun," played by actor Kim Rae-won. Uhm has starred in numerous silver screen features, such as "Crazy Marriage," "For Horowitz" and "Singles." Currently, she is promoting the music from her latest album.
Seoul Broadcast System (SBS)'s ``Sikgaek'' will once again bring the delicious and colorful dishes of Korean cuisine to the television screen next week. While the hit drama ``Jewel in the Palace'' (2003) wowed fans with royal cuisine, ``Sikgaek'' will offer a wider range of dishes from traditional to everyday recipes. ``The drama is aimed to show the true potential of Korean food,'' said Choi Jong-soo, the producer of the drama, at a press conference Monday. The drama is based on cartoonist Hur Young-man's popular namesake cartoon that first appeared as a newspaper series in 2002. The journey of the ambitious and talented chef-to-be Lee Sung-chan was also released as a movie, ``Le Grand Chef'' in 2007. Korean heartthrob Kim Rae-won (``My Little Bride,'' 2004) will star as the warm hearted chef-in-training Lee, while actress Nam Sang-mi (TV drama ``Sweet Spy,'' 2005) will play a silly country girl, Kim Jin-soo, who trails Lee with high hopes of becoming a food columnist. Veteran actor Choi Bool-am will appear as Master Oh Sook-soo, Lee's stepfather and the only person who truly believes in Lee's potential. Lee is a happy and bright young man who loves to cook. Leaving the heavy responsibility of becoming the head chef of Oh's famous restaurant to his stepbrother, he explores the world of cooking and discovers that he's actually good at it. When Oh announces that he will not choose his own son to become the owner and head chef, cold-hearted jealousy and competition arise. Because of the prevalent close-up scenes that show the actors cooking and slicing food, they had to undergo highly demanding training to present impeccable cooking skills. ``We learned to cook from renowned chefs for three months before starting the drama. We wanted to offer the whole package ourselves. The food, the acting and the cooking,'' said 27-year old Kim, showing some of the ``honorable'' cuts on his hands. For the 68-year-old actor Choi, however, it was more than a challenge to bring out his culinary side. ``I usually don't go in the kitchen so I was actually scared. Although I tried to change by going into kitchens and talking with chefs, old habits die hard,'' said Choi. So the actor worked on other features that would help him become the master of chefs. ``My character is a person who cooked his entire life. Hygiene is very important to him. I shake my hands frequently because chefs usually try not to get anything on their hands. It's like our mothers when they finish washing the dishes. My ponytail also prevents hair from falling on the food,'' he said confidently. A quick preview of the drama showed that it indeed focuses on the gastronomy to the utmost. By traveling around the nation looking for the best ingredients and recipes, ``Sikgaek'' is expected to present the meaning and devotion put into each dish. ``By looking into the lives of farmers, fishermen and even the livestock, cooking will bring a whole new meaning,'' said Kim. ``The young ones will cook, and I'll be teaching our ancestor's wisdom that was put into Korean dishes. We hope the viewers feel the charm of Korean food through the drama,'' Choi added. ``Sikgaek'' will start airing at 9:55p.m. June 16 on SBS.
Two of artist Hur Young Man's popular manhwa series will be aired through SBS this year. JS Pictures announced on the 17th a deal with SBS two broadcast the drama series "Gourmet (Shikgaek)" and "Love You (Saranghae)" based on Hur Young Man's original manhwa series. "Gourmet (Shikgaek)" is a 24-episode series starring Kim Rae Won, Nam Sang Mi, Choi Bool Ahm, with 6-episodes completed. The series is scheduled to air in April. "Love You" starring Ahn Jae Wook and Seo Ji Hye is a 16-episode series that is 90% completed with no air date set as of yet. JS Pictures added, "Both series are planned to be completed prior to broadcasting." The broadcast agreement is the second case after "The Legend" where the production company holds all rights other than national terrestrial broadcast rights. According to JS Pictures, "This is very encouraging as it is the second case following 'The Legend' where the production company has the rights to sell rights abroad and develop additional businesses based on the series. 'Gourmet' especially has been gathering the attention not only in Asia including Japan, but also the America region as it is seen as a modern version of 'Dae Jang Geum,' giving it significance in continuing the Hallyu drama trend. Sales of both series to countries in Asia and the America region have been determined."
This year, some of the hottest male stars in Korean entertainment will temporarily leave the spotlight to enter the military as part of the two-year service compulsory for all Korean males. ``Coffee Prince'' star Gong Yoo met with around 1,000 fans in a special meeting Sunday. He asked fans not to worry while he was serving in the military, but became emotional during the event. Gong's red-hot career will have to be put on hold for the next two years. The actor, who recently gained popularity for his role in the hit MBC drama, will enter the military Jan. 14. Last week, actor Chun Jeong-myoung, who appeared in the film ``Hansel and Gretel,'' and pop group NRG member No Yoo-min started their military training. Hallyu stars Zo In-sung, Cho Hyun-jae, Yang Dong-keun, Lee Dong-gun and Kim Rae-won are also expected to enlist this year. The K-pop music industry will also suffer the temporary loss of Shinhwa members Eric Mun and Kim Dong-wan, singers Eru and Sung Si-kyung, as well as former H.O.T. member Tony An. As they prepare for the military, many male stars are scrambling to finish shooting TV dramas and movies, hold concerts, release new albums and endorse products. Zo is filming the historical epic ``Ssanghwajeom'' directed by Yoo Ha, while Kim Rae-won will appear in the TV drama ``Sikgaek.'' Mun and Kim Dong-wan will be the first two Shinhwa members to enter the military. The group's 10th anniversary concert in March was also seen as a ``farewell'' concert because of the members' impending service. Sung Si-kyung held a concert last December, and is said to be releasing an album before he joins the military in February. Eru received much attention from the media, after he gave up his American citizenship two years ago. His management agency said Eru, entering the military in the second half of the year, will hold his first solo concert next month. If these stars are worried fans may forget about them during their two-year absence, they should look at the experiences of male stars returning to the entertainment scene. Even though actors Song Seung-heon and Jang Hyuk entered the military in 2004 after they were accused of draft dodging, their careers did not seem to have suffered lasting damage. Jang appeared in last year's hit drama ``Thank You,'' and is currently shooting his first Hollywood film ``Dance of the Dragon.'' Song is filming ``Fate'' with Kwon Sang-woo, which will be released this year, and will soon appear in a TV drama ``The City of God.'' Other actors who are making a comeback after being discharged from the military are Ji Sung and So Ji-sup. Ji Sung is appearing in the MBC medical drama ``New Heart,'' while Suh is still filming the drama ``Cain and Abel.'' On the other hand, Won Bin, who was discharged in 2006 due to an injury, has not announced plans for a film or drama. He only made brief appearances as a UNICEF Ambassador last year.
